Unlock definition: Ability to purchase individual pieces of content that affect gameplay, such as characters, weapons, items etc. Individually not enough to make up a distinct 'expansion pack', even if bundled together as a 'battle pass' or 'season pass'.

Examples:

Apex Legends sells 'Legends' which are new characters with significant gameplay changes.
