===Shaking screen when running the game in VR mode with SteamVR as OpenXR runtime===
 +
{{ii}} When VR mode was first added to the game, it have a issue of screen shaking when user is turning head. This happens when the OpenXR runtime is set to SteamVR on certain VR headsets. If encountered, avoid launching the VR Mode via SteamVR and use other OpenXR companion apps (i.e. Virtual Desktop with VDXR as set OpenXR runtime instead of SteamVR) for compatible VR headsets until the developer can fix the issue.
 +
 +
===Black screen on VR headset when loading the stage===
 +
{{ii}} By default, the game has '''3D Location Reveal''' turned on in VR settings. When a stage is first loaded, the game will attempt to load the stage reveal in VR view, which can sometime result in black screen that persist until the game restart. This issues is more noticable when using Virtual Desktop with VDXR as default runtime.

EA Sports WRC 2023

EA Sports WRC is a singleplayer and multiplayer simulation racing game developed by Codemasters and published by Electronic Arts via their EA Sports division. It is a licensed World Rally Championship game and is the first WRC game to be developed by Codemasters and published by Electronic Arts. Unlike prior rally games by Codemasters which uses EGO engine, EA Sports WRC uses Unreal Engine 4.

The PC version of the game includes support for DLSS and FSR. EA Sports WRC is a crossplay-compatible title, in which PC players can compete against players on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 in online multiplayer. VR mode was added to the game in 1.8.0 update.[3]

Players who preordered the game had the early access to the game on October 31, 2023. The game was released on November 3, 2023.

At launch, the game has small, but noticeable shader compilation and asset-streaming related stutter during gameplay, as well as other issues including distracting ground cover pop-in, missing presets for some wheel rims on the supported device list[4], game-breaking bugs in Rally School mode and occasional game crash when playing certain stages.[5] Further updates were released to mitigate the stuttering issues and addressing the game-breaking bugs.[6][7][8]

Thrustmaster wheels not showing correct button prompts

The developer had provided an official workaround for those with Thrustmaster wheel bases whose rims can be swapped.
Applicable to T500, TX, T300, TS-PC Racer, TS-XW Racer and T-GT/T-GT II.
Instruction[16]
  1. Open Option & Extra by pressing F1/𝐗/□ sᴏ̨ᴜᴀʀᴇ.
  2. Go to Controls.
  3. Select the Thrustmaster wheel base (T500, T300, TX, TS-PC Racer, TS-XW Racer, T-GT/T-GT II) and select Load Device Preset.
  4. Select the corresponding preset depending on the wheel rim attached to the Thrustmaster wheel base, for example the Thrustmaster T-GT Wheel preset for the default wheel that came with the T-GT/T-GT II.

Enable telemetry

Applies to UDP telemetry only, as D-Box had already enabled by default.
Enable telemetry[17]
  1. Open the config.json file located in <user>\Documents\My Games\WRC\telemetry\ with a text editior.
  2. Search for the field with the word "structure": "wrc".
  3. Set the "bEnabled"" parameter to "true" and change the "ip" and "port" fields to match that of what was set on the supported telemetry software. For example:
    "structure": "wrc",
    "packet": "session_update",
    "ip": "127.0.0.1",
    "port": 20777,
    "frequencyHz": -1,
    "bEnabled": true
  4. Save the file.

Issues unresolved

Shaking screen when running the game in VR mode with SteamVR as OpenXR runtime

When VR mode was first added to the game, it have a issue of screen shaking when user is turning head.

Black screen on VR headset when loading the stage

By default, the game has 3D Location Reveal turned on in VR settings. When a stage is first loaded, the game will attempt to load the stage reveal in VR view, which can sometime result in black screen that persist until the game restart. This issues is more noticable when using Virtual Desktop with VDXR as default runtime.
Turn off 3D Location Reveal[18]
  1. Run the game with VR headset connected.
  2. Open the Options menu and open the VR Settings menu.
  3. Turn off 3D Location Reveal in the VR Settings menu.
