The Fanatec CSL Elite is a racing wheel base released by Fanatec in August 2016.

Being a tier below the high-end ClubSport wheel base, the CSL Elite wheel base has a single gear toothed belt-driven force feedback instead of the dual V-ribbed belts. The brushless motor's torque rating has also been reduced from 8Nm of that of the ClubSport to 6Nm. The wheel base's outer construction is made mostly of ABS plastic, and has the rev indicator LEDs on the top of the wheel base. Just like many Fanatec wheel bases, it has the QR1 quick release and on the back, it has four RJ12 ports for accessories.

The updated V1.1 model, released in June 2019, fixed the issue in the original wheel base where the damper setting is too strong and cannot be turned off, along with using the motor and encoders from the ClubSport wheel base. The PlayStation-compatible version of the wheel base which the V1.1 model is based on, the CSL Elite Wheel Base+, was released in June 2017 as part of a bundle set[1] and later released as a standalone wheel base in June 2018.[2]

On PC, all versions of the CSL Elite wheel base are compatible with games that incorporate Fanatec's SDK, but requires the wheel base to be in PC mode and have Fanatec's own driver installed to work. The wheel base's settings can be further adjusted using the wheel base itself, the driver's Fanatec Control Panel software or, in case of the CSL Elite Wheel Base+, the Fanalab software. While most bundle sets have most, if not all, the required items to work out of the box, the standalone wheel base sets needs other Fanatec products (specifically, a steering wheel compatible with QR1 quick release) to be usable. It doesn't support wheels with QR2 quick release. Button layouts vary between equipped steering wheels/hubs.
