EA Sports WRC is a singleplayer and multiplayer simulation racing game developed by Codemasters and published by Electronic Arts via their EA Sports division. It is a licensed World Rally Championship game and is the first WRC game to be developed by Codemasters and published by Electronic Arts. Unlike prior rally games by Codemasters which uses EGO engine, EA Sports WRC uses Unreal Engine 4.
The PC version of the game includes support for DLSS and FSR. In addition, VR mode will be implemented at a later date post-launch. EA Sports WRC is a crossplay-compatible title, in which PC players can compete against players on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 in online multiplayer.
Players who preordered the game had the early access to the game on October 31, 2023. The game was released on November 3, 2023.
At launch, the game has small, but noticeable shader compilation and asset-streaming related stutter during gameplay, as well as other issues including distracting ground cover pop-in, missing presets for some wheel rims on the supported device list[3], game-breaking bugs in Rally School mode and occasional game crash when playing certain stages.[4] Further updates were released to mitigate the stuttering issues and addressing the game-breaking bugs.[5][6][7]
