Use No Far DOF / No Edge Blur / No Chromatic Aberration
|
Notes
- This mod provides separate folders with files to exclusively remove the far DOF effect or the edge blur and chromatic aberration effects combined; only the files within the
NO far blur folder have to be used.
- This mod does not include a modified
w_halloween file, however that should have no negative effect in practice as this file is only used in GTA Online.

Adding custom music
Adding User Music[citation needed]
|
- Go to
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\User Music\ .
- Add any desired music tracks.
Notes
- Only the WAV, MP3, WMA & M4A formats are supported.
- Some users have reported slower-loading textures when using the Self-Radio station. Suggested to be an issue when the CPU is already bottlenecking the game and transcoding the custom music bringing additional load to the CPU. Suggested to use 48 kHz 16-bit signed WAV files (normal format and bitrate of the in-game radio) instead of MP3 files to avoid this issue.[16][17]

Workaround: close Logitech G Hub before running the game[19]
|
Issues fixed
Black bars during cutscenes or squished image

Remove all references to the 4096x2160 resolution[20][21]
|

- The activation resets around every week and requires to be renewed by running the game in online mode when the ""Unable to access Rockstar servers. Activation requires Internet connection." error appears. Doing this will make the game playable in offline mode again until the next activation reset.[24]
|
"Dependency MFREADWRITE.DLL is missing. Please reinstall the game" error

- When trying to start the mission "Monkey Business" a message appears when approaching the mission marker: "The mission has been disrupted, please return later". Returning later or with another character won't make a difference.
- Unknown if the cause of this issue was ever fixed through a Title Update for the game.

- It is possible to alter the way the game runs by creating a file called
commandline.txt
and saving it to <path-to-game>
, or by using parameters as command line arguments.
- See Rockstar's list of available command line entries.
- Used to install mods that are packaged in .oiv format.
- Required for mods which expect the user to package their contents into a format usable by the game.
- The game requires the
dinput8.dll
ASI Loader file and the OpenIV.asi
OpenIV plugin to allow loading of ASI mods and modified RPF files as their signature is removed when editing them.[29] These modifications won't allow the game to boot into Online, so dinput8.dll
must be removed to play Online. This will not remove any of the mods - merely the ASI Loader.
- Modifying files outside the
mods
directory used by OpenIV will force the user to use OpenIV.asi
to run the game all the time.
Modifications
- Mods are safe to use in story mode, however, the games' anti-tamper solution will detect them and prohibit online-play until they are uninstalled (applies to all mods).[30]
- Script Hook may be a prerequisite for some mods.
- A simple modmenu for the game.
- Requires Script Hook.
- A big modmenu with a lot of options.
- Requires Script Hook.

- This mod changes the colors of the radar/minimap to be the same as the PS3/X360 versions while still keeping the additional details (buildings, roads, etc.) from the current one.
- Fixes various errors and oversights in the game.
- Fixes various map collisions, models, textures and placements errors.
- Aims to restore props that are unable to spawn due to a bug in RAGE's code.
- Fixes the broken shading on various vehicles.
- Adds some changes to the map and interiors.
- Fixes the unintended emissive "glow" on some vehicles.
- Does various fixes or improvements to the emergency vehicles' sirens.
- Fixes the behaviour of the police and SWAT in regards to interiors.
- Fixes a bug where some vehicles in the traffic are way too slow.
- Allows the firefighters to spawn with their headwear when being dispatched.
- Allows other NPC's to kill eachother, rather than only allowing the player to kill them.
- Allows for the blood on weapons to stay instead of being erased every time weapons are switched.
- Fixes the speed of hand wheel rotation in first person view.
- This mod restores various graphics elements from the PS3 and Xbox 360 version of the game.
- Subtly enhances game's graphics and fixes visual bugs without changing original Rockstar's vision.
- Restores the way certain effects looked in the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 version of the game.
- Official screenshots comparing original graphics to the modded ones can be found here.
- Easy to install and very customizable.
