Key points
- Higher resolution backgrounds (PC uses 640x480, while PS1 uses 320x240).
- The only version of RE3 with instantaneous transitions between pre-rendered backgrounds instead of half a second delays. Also natively allows the player to skip the door loadings by pressing the map button during them. In addition, there are now automatic door skip cheats for the PSX and Gamecube versions.
- Capped at 30 FPS.
- Suffers from PSX's shakey polygon/vertices effect (the same effect can be produced on the original RE2 Version when running in software mode) due to low-precision vertex transformation.
- Press F2 to access the in-game options menu and F9 to quit the program.

Essential improvements
Resident Evil 3: Restoration Project
- Replaces low quality cut scenes and audio with higher quality versions. The English voiceover was ported from the PSX version. Its quality is much higher than that of PC version. And the music is replaced with files from the official OST.
- Replaces old low resolution cut scenes with higher quality uncut versions.
- Removes Japanese subtitles on some cut scenes.
- Replaces voice over and music files with lossless versions.
Resident Evil 3 Environmental Graphics Mod
- Increases the saturation and contrast of the backgrounds, while adding some bloom.
It also addresses some bugs. Can be used with the mod above (install after the Restoration Project).
