Days Gone is a third-person open world survival horror game developed by Bend Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment under the PlayStation PC brand. The PC version includes graphical enhancements not seen in console versions, such as Screen Space Global Illumination (SSGI) and increased texture quality.[2]

The game was first released for PlayStation 4 on April 26, 2019. The PC version was announced on February 23, 2021 as part of Sony's plan to bring multiple PlayStation titles to PC.[3] This is the first time Bend Studio releases a game on PC.

Shortly after the release of the game, critics and users praised the quality of the port, with Eurogamer calling it a "quality conversion that elevates the console experience".[4]

Adjustable via the "Texture Filter Quality" setting.[10]
Anti-aliasing (AA)
Temporal Anti-Aliasing is always enabled.[Note 4] Super Sampling (SSAA) can be achieved by setting the "Render Scale" option above 100%.
Vertical sync (Vsync)
Includes an option for sync interval (full or half refresh rate).[12]
60 FPS and 120+ FPS
High dynamic range display (HDR)
Ray tracing (RT)
The game engine may allow for manual configuration of the game via its variables. See the Unreal Engine 4 page for more details.

Anti-aliasing (AA)

Disable TAA with HelixMod
  1. Download Days Gone 3D Vision fix
  2. Extract the contents to the installation folder.
  3. Go to the configuration file(s) location.
  4. Open Engine.ini.
  5. Add [SystemSettings] and r.TemporalAASamples=0 at the bottom.
  6. Save Engine.ini.
Contrary to disabling TAA only through a config file edit, this will not prevent certain HUD prompts from being displayed.

Depth of field

Disable depth of field through a config file[13]
  1. Go to the configuration file(s) location.
  2. Open Engine.ini.
  3. Add [SystemSettings] and r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0 at the bottom.
  4. Save Engine.ini.
As this completely disables depth of field, using the respective camera options in photo mode controlling the camera aperture and focus range will have no effect on the image.[13]

Notes

  1. Unreal Engine 4 engine build: 4.11.1[1]
  2. 2.0 2.1 Notes regarding Steam Play (Linux) data:
  3. The Cheat Engine table affects the FOV for cutscenes, the map menu, and sniper rifle scopes as well.
  4. Attempting to disable Temporal Anti-Aliasing using a command console injector causes issues with UI elements not appearing, alongside causing issues with the render scale option being above or below 100%.[11]
  5. While the game has issues detecting DualSense controllers wirelessly, it is accepted wirelessly through Steam Input.[15]
  6. The in-game "Motion Sensor Function Aiming" option works on either USB (PlayStation Controllers only) or Steam Input API Mode. Gyro aiming has acceleration that cannot be disabled.[17] Alternatively: you can assign [Camera Mouse] game action to the Gyro Input using Steam Input API
  7. When using the "Automatic" Controller Display option, controller prompts will switch based on the controller type. You can also change the button prompts manually.[18]
  8. While analog stick input doesn't switch between Keyboard/Mouse prompts and Controller prompts, other inputs (Such as buttons or triggers) do switch between prompts.[21]
  9. Attempting to force DirectX 12 using the -d3d12 command line argument causes the game to crash on launch.[28]
