Key points
- Includes the "Easy" mode from Final Fantasy XIII Ultimate Hits International. This can be considered the definitive version of the game with custom resolution and 60FPS support.
- Contains 720p assets (such as font and HUD),[1][2] poorly encoded 720p Bink FMVs with minor artifacts,[1][3][4] inconsistent FPS, pixelated and jagged shadows, low audio volume, and no controller vibration or XInput driver support.

Essential improvements
Remove unused FMVs to free up space
- Features dual audio English and Japanese for the ROW release.[1] Removing the FMV files for either language frees about 20 GB of space.[5]
- Verification and updating by Steam will redownload the files.[6]

Configuration file location
- All in-game configuration is stored in the save game data. The title screen configuration is not preserved between sessions.

Launcher options in ROW version.
- Shadows are inferior to the console versions, appearing pixelated and jagged. Adjusting shadow resolution in the launcher helps alleviate this.[7]
- Higher display resolutions may encounter a glitch related to missing text during enemy scans.[8][9]
Template:Video settings
- Nvidia users can follow this guide at Guru3D for alternative hardware AA.
Follow the guide to modify AA settings if various issues arise, as the game needs very specific settings to function correctly with Nvidia cards.[10]
Input settings
- Only supports DirectInput despite recommending an XInput controller (will not use the XInput driver of a controller). Controller mapping is locked to be the same as XInput controllers. Lacks controller vibration support entirely (found in the console versions).[1][11][12]

Issues unresolved
Inconsistent FPS
- While there are several workarounds and fixes for inconstant FPS (an issue not entirely unique to the PC port[13][14]), for some this remains unresolved and may be due to issues with the game itself rather than tied to resource usage such as the GPU or CPU.[15][16]
Issues fixed
Launcher doesn't launch
Could not secure sufficient VRAM
- This issue occurs when launching the game due to the inability to allocate the required VRAM.[17]
- Check if you meet the system requirements through Steam. It can be done directly by entering
steam://checksysreqs/292120
in a web browser. There are additional checks such as Can You RUN it available.[17]
- Run "dxdiag.exe" and ensure at least 256MB is shown under "Approx. Total Memory" under the "Display" tab.[17]
Abnormal eyelashes and hair
- This issue occurs when MSAA is disabled as it's required for proper alpha to coverage.[18]
- This fix is for Nvidia users. Normally AMD users cannot force AA off with the GPU control panel.
Macroblock-like hair artifacts
- This fix is for Nvidia users with GeForce 400 series (Fermi architecture) or higher and occurs only when using MSAA (on by default).[10][19]
Go into Device Manager and start disabling your Human Interface Devices (HIDs) one by one until you find which one is causing the issue. It's been reported that HID-compliant gaming controllers are usually the issue. In my case it was the 4 HID-compliant gaming controllers that my DolphinBar created.
