Sackboy: A Big Adventure is a singleplayer and multiplayer third-person platform game developed as a spinoff of the LittleBigPlanet series. It makes use of Unreal Engine 4.

It was developed originally by Sumo Digital Sheffield and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4 and 5, which got released on November 12, 2020. The PC version was developed by The Eccentric Ape and published by PlayStation PC. The PC version got released on October 27, 2022, almost 2 years after its initial release. Notable additions to the PC release compared to the original PlayStation versions are ray traced reflections, ray traced additional effect lighting shadows and ray traced ambient occlusion. Additionally it added support for DLSS 2.4.

Post-launch patches added several pieces of free costume & emote DLC, DLSS Frame Generation, fixes for shader compilation stutter (game now pre-compiles shaders during boot)[2][3][4], added 60, 75 and 144 FPS cap options[5], added T-Shirt, Baroque Costume and Renaissance Costume (originally a PlayStation launch exclusive)[6] and several bug fixes related to performance and stability.[7][8][4][9]

Graphics feature State Notes
Widescreen resolution

No multi-monitor support.
Hor+ scaling gameplay and cutscenes. Letterboxed cutscenes. The game only officially support aspect ratios up to 21:9. A 32:9 fix can be found here, but causes problems with UI.

High-fidelity upscaling
DLSS 2.4
Option only appears when supported by hardware. No sharpness slider available. DLSS Frame Generation supported since the March 16, 2023 update and DLSS has to be enabled in order to be able to enable Frame Generation.[15][9][16]
Vertical sync (Vsync)
60 FPS and 120+ FPS
60, 120 or Unlimited framerate limit options. Online co-op mode is capped at 60 FPS.[17] Game itself recommends a maximum FPS of 150 to "avoid impact on gameplay", but unknown if going any higher results in any significant issues.
High dynamic range display (HDR)
See the engine page to force native HDR output, or the glossary page for other alternatives.
Ray tracing (RT)
Raytraced reflections (Ray Tracing and Ray Tracing Ultra presets available under Reflections setting), raytraced additional effect lighting shadows (separate toggle) and raytraced ambient occlusion (highest preset available under Ambient Occlusion setting).
Options only appear when supported by hardware.
Color blind mode
Protanopia, Deuteranopia, Tritanopia and Achromatopsia.
The game engine may allow for manual configuration of the game via its variables. See the Unreal Engine 4 page for more details.

RT-, Reflex- and DLSS-settings do not appear when not supported by hardware, they are then simply hidden from the menu. DLSS Frame Generation option does only show when DLSS itself is enabled. When DLSS is disabled, Frame Generation gets disabled too. Tested on March 30, 2023 version.
