Star Wars: Episode I - Racer is a racing sci-fi game set in the Star Wars universe. Its sequel Star Wars Racer Revenge was never released on PC.
The game was initially released on retail disc for Windows on May 18, 1999 in North America and June 4, 1999 in Europe, alongside the Nintendo 64 version. The MacOS version was released later that year on December 16, 1999. It did not receive a modern digital distribution release until it was released on GOG.com on May 1, 2018.[1] It was released on Steam on November 16, 2018,[2] and later on Origin.
On PC, there is a small but active modding and speedrunning community based around this Community Discord server and uses this modded exe for multiplayer.
Frame rates above 30 may introduce glitches or game-breaking bugs.[3][4]
Key points
- Installing the retail version on 64-bit versions of Windows requires a workaround. See Installing retail version on 64-bit versions of Windows.

Issues fixed
- Play Old PC Games has troubleshooting information on installing and running the game.
Graphical issues
- e.g., low frame rate, black screen, white screen, green screen, artifacts, crash on startup, etc.
Use dgVoodoo 2 for proper emulated old DirectX support[citation needed] |
---|
Notes
|
Edit dgVoodoo2 config file to eliminate z-fighting (Requires at least version 2.55.1 of dgVoodoo2)[8][9] |
---|
dgVoodoo2 2.55.1 introduced the ability to force the internal bit depth of D3D depth buffers. The setting must be edited in the dgVoodoo.conf config file.
