Key points
- Features 60 FPS support and some improved textures over previous versions. An unofficial texture project is also being developed to completely revise them.
- The game speed is bound to frame rate and has no frame skipping. With many animations being unoptimized for 1080p/60 FPS, they can sometimes cause slow motion.
- Mouse aiming may be botched, possibly to the extent of being unplayable with a mouse. It may be improved after changing the aim mode to "modern" and adjusting the 30 levels, but this isn't a guarantee. A controller is highly recommended.
- Positional audio is hit-or-miss; many sound effects are mono.

Issues fixed
Random lag
- If you're playing the game and it suddenly lags, load the map and exit.
Can't pass QTE
- For some QTEs, such as when Leon is hanging on a ledge in Chapter 4, mashing the button as fast as you can still doesn't pass the QTE and he falls off anyway. This is because of botched 60 FPS support, requiring QTEs to be mashed faster. Try changing it to 30FPS, or use Cheat Engine, attach the process, Speed Hack it to 0.5, thus giving you more time to press the button. After the QTE, simply exit Cheat Engine and continue the game. Another tip is to mash the button even before the prompt appears.
Crashes around 15 minutes of gameplay in Windows 8 or 10
- If the game keeps crashing after 15 minutes (more or less).
Stop Windows Service "Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service".
- Open Task Manager.
- Go to Services.
- Identify Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service (TabletInputService).
- Stop the service.
- Launch RE4.
