Need for Speed: The Run is a singleplayer and multiplayer racing game developed by EA Black Box and published by Electronic Arts. It is the eighteenth entry in the Need for Speed series and the first title in the series to utilize the Frostbite engine.
Unlike previous Need for Speed titles, The Run does not feature an open world. The game's story mode has players assumes the role of an street racer named Jack Rourke, as he is taking part in a large-scale race from San Francisco to New York while being chased by the Mob and authority alike.
It was released in North America on November 15, 2011, followed by Europe on November 18, 2011.
Availability
- This game is no longer available digitally.
- All versions require Origin DRM.
- Signature Edition Booster Pack was included in the 1.1 update.
- Supercars Pack was not released for PC, but the vehicles are in the game files, and can be unlocked.
- Italian Pack, and Heroes and Villains Pack were not released for PC.
- Due to online servers shutdown, the game will softlock on "Connecting to Autolog servers ...", the only solution is to restrict the internet access for the game.
Version differences
- Limited Edition content includes the Lamborghini Aventador, Porsche 911 Carrera S, Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and 5 exclusive challenges.

- DSR Supersampling AA can be enabled for GeForce GTX 600 series or later video cards with the 344.48 WHQL or newer drivers. Windows 8.1 users should run the game in Windows 7 compatibility mode to increase stability and performance. If DSR is not displayed correctly (part of the display is cut off of the monitor), exit the game, toggle the desktop resolution to a higher setting in the Nvidia Control Panel, then reboot the game. The desktop resolution can then be reverted to native.
