Changing language

If the configuration file is deleted, the language selection prompt will appear next time the game is started.
To change the language without losing other settings, edit the configuration file and modify the language=x line. Valid values are 0-English, 1-French, 2-Italian, 3-German, 4-Spanish.[2]

Issues fixed

Crash when installed in a 3 TB+ hard drive partition

The game will refuse to run when installed on a large partition.

Installing the game on another partition will fix this issue[3]

Will Not Launch on Latest Nvidia Drivers

Game opens with a white screen and error dialog, quitting out
Update to the latest version of Windows 10[4]

DVD version launcher does not work on Windows 10

Running Launcher.exe shows a black screen and "Failed to initialize renderer" pop-up
Set Launcher.exe to run in Windows 95 compatibility mode[5][6]

Extremely slow intro logos and menu animations

Uncapped FPS results in slow menu transitions. Usually caused by disabling V-sync globally in the drivers.
Enable vertical sync in driver's control panel.
Limit the Framerate to 60FPS

Crash/immediate exit on launch

The game will launch and exit without an error message when no audio device is available.
Make sure an audio device is plugged in and enabled.[7]

Graphic glitches

The game has some gfx glitches like "jumping" animated doors/windows, missing animation for candles and more...
This Steam Guide's patch tries to fix them.
