Need for Speed: World is a multiplayer MMO racing game co-developed by EA Black Box and EA Singapore and published by Electronic Arts. It is the fifteenth entry[Note 1] in the Need for Speed series and the first online-only title in the series.
Just like recent Need for Speed titles, World focuses on illegal street racing and features an open world where players can freely roams around. Player can also be chased by cops during free roam and race.
After five years of running, official servers for the game were shut down on July 14, 2015.[1] However, it is possible to play the game with the use of a server emulator.

Issues fixed
Playing online
- To play the game after July 14, 2015, a server emulator is needed.
Server emulator[5]
|
- Download the game files and Soapbox Race World from this website. This is an unofficial open-source project that currently has functioning online servers.
- Extract the game files (Need for Speed World folder) anywhere (Documents or Program Files recommended).
- Extract the Soapbox Race World launcher inside the installation folder, run the launcher and follow the instructions.
- Run the launcher, select a server, create an account and play.
|
Different (alternative)server emulators are available[5]
|
- There are different community servers available and their sites can be easily reached as available options in the "Download" section of NRZ, affiliated with the developers of Soapbox Race World.
