The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series is a remaster collection of all four The Walking Dead (video game) seasons, Michonne, and the 400 Days DLC with some graphical enhancements, gameplay improvements, and exclusive behind-the-scenes content.[1] It is meant to replace the The Telltale Series release which was poorly received by the community for doing changes to visuals and soundtrack and not being overall faithful.[citation needed] This release attempts to be more faithful in general, although some effects like Graphic Black being present in seasons that didn't originally have it was seen as a negative by some.
The game was released on September 10, 2019 on Epic Games Store as a timed exclusive, and later re-released on Steam and GOG on October 29, 2020.
The game received some minor patches on release fixing some visual issues, however, some issues remained. The quality of the Graphic Black filter present in the games that didn't have it (Season One, Season Two, A New Frontier, Michonne) is poor due to being auto-generated[2] and the games not being made with the effect in mind in general - it is optional in those games, however. Although each of the five original games has individual settings, the Definitive Menu can be used to quickly adjust certain settings for all games at once.
