Issues fixed

Errors at launch

Some users have reported that having ASCII characters in your Steam nickname will cause errors at launch.
Change your nickname to one with basic characters only[3]

Game doesn't save vsync settings

Activate Vsync and change your native resolution to another resolution and then back to the native resolution

The resolution must be changed every time the game is opened, otherwise the game will not accept vsync even if it is activated.

Low/inconsistent framerate with V-Sync enabled

Updates to Windows 10 have resulted in incompatibility with older CryEngine games, which may result in a capped frame rate.[4]
Set Low Latency Mode to Ultra[5]
  • Go to the Nvidia control panel, set Low Latency Mode to Ultra for Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 in the "Manage 3D Settings" tab and press Apply.
Set max frame rate to 1000 in Nvidia control panel[6]
  • Go to the Nvidia control panel, set max frame rate to 1000 for Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 in the "Manage 3D Settings" tab and press Apply.
Apply RTSS framerate limiter[7][8]
  1. Download and install RivaTuner Statistics Server.
  2. Run it.
  3. Click the "add" button and navigate to where you installed Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 and add SniperGhostWarrior2.exe.
  4. Set framerate limiter to any number (e.g. 200).
  5. Minimize (don't close) the program.

Run the game at screen refresh rate

CryEngine 3 may set the monitor's refresh rate to the lowest supported refresh rate, resulting in choppy gameplay even if the internal GPU render shows a high FPS.
Override refresh rate set by game[9]
  1. Download 3Dmigoto.
  2. Copy the files in x32 to <path-to-game>\Bin32\.
  3. Open d3dx.ini.
  4. Change ;refresh_rate=60 to the desired value, and remove the semicolon (e.g. refresh_rate=144).
  5. Change hunting=1 to ;hunting=1.
  6. Save the changes and close the file.
Play the game in DirectX 9[9]
Workaround with a deprecated fullscreen setting[10]
  1. Open <path-to-game>\system.cfg.
  2. Set Fullscreen to 0.

If the in-game fullscreen setting is set to on, the game will return to fullscreen with unlocked framerate upon reaching the menu.
