Availability[edit]

Essential improvements[edit]

Skip intro videos[edit]

Instructions[1]
  1. Go to <path-to-game>\FSD\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\
  2. Open Game.ini.
  3. Add:
    [/Script/MoviePlayer.MoviePlayerSettings]
    StartupMovies=

  4. Save changes.

Skip splash screen[edit]

Instructions[1]
  1. See Command line arguments.
  2. Use -nosplash.

Improve Anti Aliasing[edit]

Edit Engine.ini
  1. Go to <path-to-game>\FSD\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\.
  2. Open Engine.ini.
  3. Add the following:
[SystemSettings]
r.DefaultFeature.AntiAliasing=2
r.TemporalAACurrentFrameWeight=0.2
r.TemporalAASamples=64
r.TemporalAASharpness=0.8
r.Tonemapper.Sharpen=1

This will replace FXAA with TAA when using "High" or "Ultra" Anti-aliasing setting. Notice that TAA can result visible shimmering and blurring of details (ie. Laser-pointer's text). Models inside menus (ie. inventory screen or item shop) are not affected by TAA at all.

Notes

  1. 1.0 1.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/548430/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (548430) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.

    Verified by playing around with Windows 10's HDR/SDR brightness balance slider while playing the game. The slider has a noticeable effect on how bright/dark the game is, which wouldn't be the case if it actually supported HDR output.
  3. Are you having random fps drops? Try disabling Ansel.
