System Shock is a remake of the the 1994 game of the same name. The remake was developed by Nightdive Studios and published by Prime Matter.
The development of the game started on the Unity engine and was first announced in 2015 for Windows and consoles. After a successful Kickstarter campaign, Linux and macOS ports were also confirmed. In 2017, the development moved from Unity to Unreal Engine 4. The final game was release on May 30, 2023.
