Official patches

The last official for Lords of Magic is 3.01 for the Special Edition and 2.0a for the non-SE release. Both may be found here.
The Steam and GOG versions come with the 3.01 patch already installed.
The last patch for SE has a bug that causes some low level dungeons and marauder parties to spawn with Pegasus Riders, a high level unit.

Only works with the SE release patched to version 3.01

  1. Download the latest build from here or here.
  2. Extract the contents of the archive downloaded into the <path-to-game> folder.

Skip intro videos

Delete/rename/move video files
  1. Open the <path-to-game>\smk folder.
  2. Delete, rename or move Intro.smk and IMPTITLE.smk.
  3. Do the same for Credits.smk to skip the credits video shown when exiting the game.

Install dgVoodoo 2
  1. Follow the installation instructions for installing for a DX2-8 game.
  2. Copy the files dgVoodoo.conf and dgVoodooCpl.exe from the archive into <path-to-game>, then run dgVoodooCpl.exe.
  3. Under the General tab, change the Appearance setting to Windowed. Also tick the Centre app window box.
  4. Under the DirectX tab, untick Application controlled fullscreen/windowed state, Disable Alt-Enter to toggle screen state and dgVoodoo watermark.
  5. Click on Ok.
