|release history = ''God of War'' was first released on PlayStation 4 on April 20, 2018, and was later released on PC on January 14, 2022. The PC version has several features over the PlayStation 4 version, featuring high frame-rates, ultrawide, and high-resolution-support, although with a few issues such as no anti-aliasing-toggle or FoV slider. The launch was considered a success, with the player-count reaching a peak that surpassed other ports that have been released.<ref>{{Refurl|url=https://www.ign.com/articles/god-of-war-has-passed-horizon-zero-dawn-and-is-now-sonys-biggest-pc-launch|title=God of War Has Passed Horizon Zero Dawn and Is Now Sony's Biggest PC Launch|date=2022-01-19}}</ref> | |release history = ''God of War'' was first released on PlayStation 4 on April 20, 2018, and was later released on PC on January 14, 2022. Issues unresolved
Controller-issues
Unintended inputs if using DS4/DualSense natively and the game is running at high FPS
The game engine seems to expect a new controller "Input Report" at every in-game frame. If the Input Report is not received in time the engine interprets as if the user released all buttons/sticks/triggers until a new one has been received. This means that if the controller is not "communicating" faster than the time delta between frames, the player may see buttons being "released" on their own then pressing themselves again, sporadically or frequently.
- Steam discussion page related to this issue
- If using the controller via cable the user may not run into this issue under normal conditions
- Impossible to fully prevent it
- Issue can happen frequently if using the controller wirelessly, either via Sony's Official USB Wireless adapter for DS4 controllers or via remapping the wireless DS4/DualSense into a virtual wired DS4
Use the controller via Steam Input or via a XInput wrapper[citation needed] |
