ProjectX

Community port of Forsaken, runs on cross-platform technologies and currently officially supports Windows, Linux, and OS X.

Install and play on modern systems

Apply official and unofficial patches
  1. Go to the disc and set Windows 95 compatibility mode for autorun.exe and setup.exe.
  2. Install the game normally.
  3. Install the 1.01 patch (see above)
  4. Download Forsaken Legacy Patch
  5. Delete the Opt folder in the Forsaken installation (all these drivers will be replaced)
  6. Extract the contents of the legacy patch's Forsaken folder to <path-to-game>.
  7. Run LAUNCH.BAT.
In case of playback issues with the intro cutscene, refer to the legacy patch's INSTRUCTIONS.TXT.
Using ProjectX as the engine requires a much simpler installation, at the cost of disabling music.
