Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition |
|
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition is part of the Grand Theft Auto: Trilogy - The Definitive Edition, which comes with Grand Theft Auto III – The Definitive Edition and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – The Definitive Edition bundled. It utilizes the Unreal Engine 4 engine.
The Definitive Edition release was very much similar to the original's, but with redone and AI-upscaled textures and improved lighting. Data miners found that it was most likely based on the mobile ports of the originals, which feature numerous bugs, like broken bicycle physics. Upon release the game received severe criticism for its visuals, grammatical errors in upscaled textures, poor performance and technical issues. Compared to the original release, the Definitive Edition removed the custom soundtrack and photo gallery that were in the original version. Additionally, it removed any Haitian and Cuban references that were in the original game.
The original release (1.0) features a non-encrypted archive which is the only version to support modding. Post-launch most instances of grammatical errors and floating textures were fixed through several updates, while still some instances of these issues remain.
