- Original RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 game files are required in order to play OpenRCT2. As of version 0.4.2 and later, RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic installations can be used instead.
- Works with all retail and digital releases of the original game, and does not require the expansion packs.
- An alternative way of installing is through the OpenLauncher, which can also check for and download updates and development builds.
