SMAPI[edit]

The mod loader for Stardew Valley. Required for most types of mod.

Easy to install and use.
Compatible with Linux/Mac/Windows. Works fine with GOG and Steam achievements.

Content Patcher[edit]

Loads content packs that change the game's data, images, and maps without replacing XNB files and make changes dynamically based on many in-game details.

Great for easy mod creation. Including a API that let modders create custom tokens for content packs to use.
Require SMAPI to use.
