Launch game directly from desktop shortcut (Windows)[edit]

Use Command line arguments[1]

  2. On the game tab, take note of the ID. You can change this if desired.
  3. Create a shortcut to ScummVM.
  4. Edit the shortcut, using the ID of the desired game as a Command line parameter. No - or / is necessary.
  5. (Optional) Rename the shortcut and change the icon, as desired.

To launch without the ScummVM Status Window, use the Command line parameter --no-console

Issues fixed[edit]

Game appears stretched horizontally[edit]

Fix incorrect aspect ratio[1]
Many ScummVM games are designed to run at 320x200 or 640x400, but with a 4:3 aspect ratio. To set this, enable Aspect ratio correction in the Graphics tab of the game's options.
This is likely to cause unevenly sized pixels. See Some pixels are taller than others.
This option is not available (nor necessary) for titles that use square pixels.

Some pixels are taller than others[edit]

This is usually caused by aspect ratio correction, but can also be caused by the image not being displayed at a pixel-perfect resolution.
Enable filter graphics[1]
  1. Open the ScummVM launcher and edit the game's options.
  2. Under the Graphics tab, check Filter graphics.
  3. Click OK.
This will result in a slightly blurrier picture. For optimal results, use in conjunction with a scaler such as 3x.
