Issues fixed

Run on Windows 8 and later

Purble Place and other bundled games are unavailable after upgrading to Windows 8.

The steps below make the Windows 7 version run on Windows 8 (there is no fix for the Vista version yet).

Fix Purble Place compatibility^{[citation needed]}

Recover the Purble Place files.
- If you did an upgrade install: look in C:\windows.old\Program Files\Microsoft Games
- If you did a clean install: go to sources on the Windows 7 DVD and open install.wim using 7-Zip.
Copy the recovered Purble Place folder somewhere convenient.
Download a hex editor (e.g. HxD).
Open PurblePlace.exe in the hex editor.
- If Windows 7 was 64-bit:
  1. Search for the hex values 3B C5 0F 4C CD 41
  2. Change to 39 C0 0F 4C CD 41
- If Windows 7 was 32-bit:
  1. Search for the hex values 7D 04 83 65 FC 00
  2. Change to EB 04 83 65 FC 00
Move the Purble Place folder to its default location (it will only work with this location):
- If Windows 7 was 64-bit: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games
- If Windows 7 was 32-bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games
Purble Place will now run on Windows 8 and later.
