Microsoft Corporation is an American multinational technology corporation.
Microsoft was founded on April 4, 1975 and is primary known for their long-running Microsoft Windows operating system on PC. Microsoft is also a video game console manufacturer, best known of their Xbox video game consoles. Many of the software technologies, including the DirectX and XInput APIs, were shared between the Windows OS and the Xbox consoles. Microsoft have been handling the PC game development and publishing since early 1990's.
Today, PC games published by Microsoft are usually done through their Xbox Game Studios label. If their new game is releasing on the Xbox consoles, chances are, it will be also on PC.
