This article covers two mutually related expanded variants of the fighting game Street Fighter IV.
Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition is the third variant of Street Fighter IV. It was originally distributed on consoles as DLC/edition upgrade for Super Street Fighter IV (the second variant), but on PC they were only sold in a bundle. Compared to the original Street Fighter IV, it includes multiple new characters, new stages, rebalanced existing characters, as well as new game modes (Team Battle, Replay Channel, Endless Battle).
Ultra Street Fighter IV is the fourth and final variant of the game, and existing owners of SSF4AE need to purchase an edition upgrade package to access its new content. Confusingly, the Steam SKU was renamed to this version for all users.[1] This edition includes a final set of 5 additional characters, 6 stages ported from Street Fighter X Tekken, new mechanics (Ultra Combo Double, Red Focus Attack and Delayed Standing), the Elimination game mode, the ability to join other players online in Training mode, and an edition selection mechanic which allows the selection of characters as they were balanced in prior editions of the game. Finally, the Games for Windows - LIVE multiplayer service was replaced by Steamworks.

Frame rate and online sync issues
Change frame rate options[8]
|
The game runs best when using the 'Fixed' frame rate option under 'Graphics Settings' and disabled VSync. This also fixes some potential online desynchronization issues. Using the 'Smooth' frame rate option can lead to malfunctioning attacks. The game was designed to be run at a constant 60 FPS so anything other than a fixed frame rate can cause issues. If tearing occurs, enable VSync either through the game or the graphics card's control panel, but this adds a minor delay in input, albeit not noticeable to most players.
