The DOS version of Super Street Fighter II Turbo is a variant of the 1994 arcade game of the same name ported by Eurocom.

The visuals and core gameplay are identical to the arcade original, but special move controls have been adapted to the keyboard setup. Certain sprites, primarily those in the background, were missing or not animated due to game speed concerns. [1] Most such instances were fixed by patch 1.5, alongside numerous other tweaks and bug fixes for issues which the original arcade version did not have. These changes were not brought to the 1996 Amiga CD32 port by the same developers.

The game's settings menu includes 10 difficulty settings, and the US arcade bug with difficulty being stuck at maximum is not present in any version of the DOS release.[2].

Some minor differences still persist, such as statues in M.Bison's stage not being breakable, which is due to the files given by Capcom to Eurocom omitting the related sprites and the port developers did not have enough time to recreate them.[1]

Unlocking Akuma

Follow official procedure[3]
  1. On the player select screen, immediately move the selection cursor onto Ryu's face and leave it there for 3 seconds.
  2. Then, move the cursor onto T. Hawk's face and wait 3 seconds.
  3. Then, move the cursor onto Guile's face and wait 3 seconds.
  4. Then, move cursor onto Cammy's face and wait 3 seconds.
  5. Then, move the cursor back to Ryu's face and wait 3 more seconds.
  6. After waiting these final three seconds, immediately press all three punch buttons.
  7. Akuma's face should now replace Ryu's, enabling selection.

Notes

In VS Challenge mode, both players can do this, enabling an Akuma mirror match.
