Patches
Latest build is v52. Use either below to obtain the latest version:
SuiKaze Raider's TRAOD Updater - Includes a reworked launcher and graphical enhancements (ENB series).
or
Tomb Raider Multi Patch - Works with TR6 even though it only mentions TR2-5. Use if you only want to patch the game without any of the extras from the above option.
Modifications

- SLAYER's Ultimate Patch - The best level and cutscene files available with the least amount of problems.
- Nakamichi680's definitive levels patch - Fixes most flipped texture issues on objects. Install after SLAYER's Ultimate Patch.
- red_lion's level fixes - Builds upon Nakamichi680's work to fix errors still present and replace certain low-res textures with vanilla friendly hi-res replacements. Install after Nakamichi680's patched levels.
- Right looking FMVs - Ported from PS2 version and with colors adjusted.
- Ending credits restoration - Restores missing credits present on PS2 version.
Utilities
- Startup Configuration Utility - Used to play FMVs, skip levels, enable debug menu and much more.
- TRAOD EXE Multi-Patcher - Tool by Nakamichi680. Provides many gameplay tweaks and restores certain features and effects to the game.

Can't enable EAX
- On Windows Vista and later, EAX is unselectable due to the removal of DirectSound3D. Re-enabling requires either older hardware with a dedicated Creative sound card, or emulation.
Install the following[3]
|
- Install EAX Unified drivers.
- Install OpenAL (Second archive option - "Windows Installer") - May already be installed on your system. If not, be sure to install it, or the step below will not work.
- Install DSOAL (Download "dsoal-latest.7z") - Extract contents to your Bin folder in the game installation directory, which is where the exe files are. So, look for where TRAOD.exe, P3, P4, etc are located, then install dsound.dll, dsoal-aldrv.dll, and alsoft.ini there.
- (Optional) If dsound.dll is unable to be detected by the game, follow the instructions here to register dsound.dll. This only needs to be done once, and will allow it to work for other games that utilize it.
This is a universal fix, meaning it will work with any combination of hardware. You do not need a dedicated sound card for it to work, and the sound will be indistinguishable from hardware-enabled EAX.

Graphics Options
- The Angel of Darkness' options panel in the Launcher has many options for tweaking the display quality in the game. Many of these are poorly documented in the Launcher itself, with little explanation as to what these options do. The guide below will give you the best visual quality the game can offer. Credit goes to Maverin over at Tomb Raider Forums for gathering all of this information together.
To start, open the Launcher and go to Settings. Then go to the tab corresponding to your graphics card's name, which is where the graphics options are.
Screen Format: Choose "32 bit X8R8G8B8" "32 bit A8R8G8B8".
Screen Resolution: Choose the highest native resolution that your monitor supports. If you experience framerate drops, choose a scaled down option.
Colour Depth: Choose the first option.
Render Type: Three options - Fixed Hardware, Shader Hardware, and Software. This one is based on preference as each have pros and cons. Fixed Hardware and Software have the least amount of issues, but are lacking in quality with many effects turned off. Shader Hardware allows for maximum graphical quality with all effects on, but at the cost of some minor texture flickering. If you are not bothered by it, then Shader Hardware is recommended over the other two.
Gamma: Recommended to bring slider slightly to the left, at about the halfway point, as by default the game is slightly too bright. If wanting a look closer to the PS2 version, it should be brought further back, about halfway between completely dark and the slider's halfway point.
Monitor Aspect: Set this based on the table below according to your monitor's aspect ratio.
