60 FPS
120+ FPS
No frame rate cap, but bullet physics break when FPS exceeds 120, causing bullets to phase through enemies without harming them. High frame rates below 120 will result in exaggerated physics effects, but this does not affect gameplay. Refresh rate can be set when choosing resolution. See Issues fixed.
High dynamic range display (HDR)
See the glossary page for potential alternatives.

Widescreen resolution

Though most modern resolutions are natively supported, on some systems it may be limited to 1600x1050 and will have to be set manually with a hex editor.
Hex edit the config file[2]
  1. Go to <path-to-game>\Save.
  2. Open profile.dat with a hex editor such as HxD.
  3. Find a string which displays the current resolution, e.g. 1280x720x60.
  4. Replace it with the desired resolution.

Notes

If the resolution's height does not have enough characters - close the hex editor, open the game, choose 1600x1050, apply new settings and quit. Then edit the config file.
Image is Vert-. For ultra-wide resolutions, FOV will need to be increased to compensate.
Changing any in-game options will revert the changes.

Field of view (FOV)

Use modified DLL files[2]
  1. Download modified DLL files and extract them.
  2. Copy CloakNTEngine.dll with a preferred FOV value to the installation folder overriding already existing file.

Notes

This fix requires Patch 1.1 installed.

Notes

  1. 1.0 1.1 When running this game without elevated privileges (Run as administrator option), write operations against a location below %PROGRAMFILES%, %PROGRAMDATA%, or %WINDIR% might be redirected to %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore on Windows Vista and later (more details).
  2. 2.0 2.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/7980/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (7980) may differ in some cases.
