Dynasty Warriors Online Z[Note 1] is a singleplayer and multiplayer third-person hack and slash and MMORPG game developed by Omega Force and published by Eleven-Up, Koei Tecmo, Aeria Games, Tciplay Interactive Entertainment, Cayenne Entertainment Technology and Netmarble. It is a part of the Dynasty Warriors franchise within the larger Warriors series.
It was first released as Shin Sangokumusou BB[Note 2] in Japan on November 1, 2006.[citation needed] The game was later renamed to Dynasty Warriors Online[Note 3] in Japan due to the game no longer restricted to certain ISP subscribers in Japan. The game was further renamed again to the current name.
South Korean server was the first to be shut down on July 29, 2010, followed by North America and Europe server on January 10, 2014.[1] Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau server also announced the server to be shut down on May 23, 2016[2] and China server on December 29, 2020.[3] The last playable server that is the Japan server had shut down on February 24, 2022 following of the announcement which was made on December 15, 2021.[4]
