Death end re;Quest 2 is a singleplayer third-person JRPG game. The game has been developed by Idea Factory, Compile Heart and published by Idea Factory International. The game is a sequel in the Death_end_re;Quest series. The game uses OROCHI 4 as it's engine.

Prior to the games release it has been announced that the character designs have been slightly adjusted "to meet global standards.". With characters from the first game being available in this game their outfits have been censored for the PlayStation 4 system. This led publisher Idea Factory International to ask Steam players to take a poll to decide on the censorship of the first games characters.[1] The result was that characters of the first game still retain their original outfits in the PC version while the new characters are the same as seen in the PlayStation 4 version. This does not apply to event CG's or movie cinematics due to "The development cost and time to include both costume versions would not being feasible.".[2][3] Just like the first game resolutions between 1080p and 4K remain upscaled. The game released on August 18, 2020.
