Issues fixed
"Internal Error" on launch
Run ST.exe as administrator, and optionally in compatibility mode for Windows 98 / ME.[citation needed]
|
Notes
- Does not occur if installed in a non-standard folder, or if the user has full permissions to the installation folder.
- This fix will also disable the intro videos. To enable them, set the compatibility mode to Windows XP (Service Pack 3).
|
External configuration program does not work
- On modern Windows, the
STConfig.exe
external configuration program does not appear to save settings properly, regardless if "Apply" was clicked.
Run STConfig.exe as administrator[citation needed]
|
"The program can't start because d3drm.dll is missing"
Add d3drm.dll to the installation folder[1]
|
- In the Submarine Titans disc, go to
directx
- Open the
directx.cab file
- Copy the
d3drm.dll file and paste it into the installation folder.
- Digital releases include this file in the game directory by default.
|
“The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022). Click OK to close the application”
Broken video playback, showing as black screen
Edit video script files manually, forcing playback from 24-bit to 16-bit[citation needed]
|
- Go to
<path-to-game>\video
- Open
startup.vps
- In all lines starting with
PlayVideo , change the entries of COLOR_24BIT to COLOR_16BIT
- Repeat as above for the file
campaign.vps
Notes
- This should make the videos play, however there is likely a loss in color fidelity due to forcing them to play in 16-bit color mode.
