Essential improvements

Restore missing character grunts

The Audio\_VO directory present in the console versions is missing in the PC versions, resulting in most characters not making their intended grunts.
These files can be added back in without extracting the game's DAT files, unlike most Nu2 engine game mods.[2]
Use the Character Voice Restoration mod[2]

Issues fixed

Game uses incorrect refresh rate

Some resolutions only accept 60 Hz with no way to change it.
Override refresh rate set by game[3]
  1. Download Chiri's resolution forcing tool.
  2. Extract d3d9.dll and d3dx.ini to the installation folder.
  3. Open d3dx.ini.
  4. Change refresh_rate=60 to desired hertz; e.g. refresh_rate=120.

Game breaking bugs at high frame rate

High frame rates will cause characters to not jump over certain obstacles.
Limit the Framerate to 60FPS[citation needed]
Enable Vsync in Video options and set monitor on 60hz.[citation needed]

Notes

  1. 1.0 1.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/32450/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (32450) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
