Issues fixed

Running the game on 64 bit Windows

Although the game installer is 16-bit, the actual game is 32-bit. The only way to play it is to do a manual install:

Manually install the game

This also allows the game to no longer require a CD to use
Setting up the game manually[citation needed]
  1. Somewhere on the computer (ex. the Desktop), create a new folder called "Sorry!".
  2. In the Sorry! CD, go to the Sorry! folder.
  3. Copy the contents of the folder and paste them into the folder that was created before.
  4. When everything has finished copying, go into the installation folder and run the sorry.exe file to play the game.

Graphic/audio glitches on modern Windows

If the graphics in-game are popping in and out of view and sounds are not playing, try this fix:
Setting up compatibility settings[citation needed]
  1. Right click on the sorry.exe file (located in the installation folder) and select "Properties".
  2. Go to the "Compatibility" tab and enable Compatibility Mode (set it to "Windows 95"). For Windows 8, also enable Reduced Colour Mode (set to 16-bit) and "Run in 640x480 resolution".
  3. Run the Bench.exe file (located in the installation folder)
  4. When the menu appears, click on the "Advanced" button
  5. Enable the "Force No Hardware" and "Software Mouse" options and press OK for both the advanced settings menu and the main menu.
  6. Run the sorry.exe file to play the game.

"The program can't start because d3drm.dll is missing" error

Add d3drm.dll to the installation folder[citation needed]
  1. In the Sorry! CD, go to Setup\Directx5\directx
  2. Copy d3drm.dll and paste it into the installation folder.
