Essential improvements

Patches

Although Steam users are automatically updated to latest stable version, modding support requires a hack.
The latest patch is version 1.03, which restores mod support.

Skip intro videos

Replace .bik files with empty files[3]
  1. Go to the <path-to-game>\data\media\ui.
  2. Rename ego_sting.bik and intel_sting.bik to the ego_sting.bak and intel_sting.bak.
  3. Create two empty text files and rename them to ego_sting.bik and intel_sting.bik.

EGO Engine Upgrade

Upgrades EGO to get the most out of the engine and fix some performance problems on modern machines.
Improves performance and graphics quality by removing performance matrix and re-organizing the different engine systems across the available CPU threads.
Adds new aspect ratio options.
Adds optional "Cinematic Mode" which puts the game into the same resolution and aspect ratio used in the cinema.
