Field of view (FOV)

  2. Open user.cfg
  3. Change r_base_fov from the default 60 to the desired value

Notes

Increasing the FOV will reveal unfinished player model.
Increasing the FOV above a certain point will also make the blood overlay (when you get damaged) on screen bug out and only take a portion of the screen.

Motion blur

Disable motion blur[citation needed]
  1. Go to the configuration file location
  2. Open user.cfg
  3. Change r_blur_level and r_game_mblur_scale to 0

Windowed

Set windowed mode[citation needed]
  1. Go to the configuration file location
  2. Open user.cfg
  3. Change r_fullscreen on to r_fullscreen off

Borderless fullscreen windowed

Set borderless fullscreen[citation needed]
  1. Go to the configuration file(s) location.
  2. Open user.cfg.
  3. Change r_fullscreen on to r_fullscreen off.
  4. Download Special K.
  5. Copy SpecialK64.dll to the installation folder.
  6. Rename SpecialK64.dll to dxgi.dll.
  7. Start the game and exit.
  8. Open dxgi.ini in the installation folder.
  9. Set Borderless=true and Fullscreen=true under [Window.System].
  10. Set OverrideRes=0x0 to the resolution of your screen (e.g. OverrideRes=1920x1080).
  11. Start the game and set the resolution to something else.
  12. Set the resolution back to your screen resolution.
