  3. Create a copy of <path-to-game>\EYE\EYE\resource\vgui\stats\stats_english.text file, this step is important for the Stat tab fix.
  4. Download and install 7zip. Extract the EYE_Text_Revamp_Mod_v1.3.rar file.
  5. Copy the the folder EYE_Text_Revamp_Mod_v1.3.rar\resource to <path-to-game>\EYE\EYE folder and replace the existing files in the <path-to-game>\EYE\EYE\resource folder.
  6. For 4:3 ratio monitor users, copy EYE_Text_Revamp_Mod_v1.3.rar\resource\4x3 Monitor Patch\messeye_english.txt to <path-to-game>\EYE\EYE\resource\vgui\messeye, and replace the existing file.

Fixing Stats tab

  1. If you have created a back up of the original <path-to-game>\EYE\EYE\resource\vgui\stats\stats_english.txt file. Open it in a text editor.
  2. Go to the line that reads "EYEStats_HeadHitsLabel" "Head", select it and select the rest of the lines all the way to the line that reads "EYE_ResetStats" "Reset stats" and copy them.
  3. Open the patched <path-to-game>\EYE\EYE\resource\vgui\stats\stats_english.txt text file.
  4. Insert the copied lines right above the line that reads "EYEStats_ResetAchiev" "Reset Achievements" in the patched text file.
  5. Save the file.

Patch Uninstallation

  1. Simply copy back the original <path-to-game>\EYE\EYE\resource folder back.
  2. Otherwise, in <path-to-game>\EYE\EYE delete the <path-to-game>\EYE\EYE\resource folder.
  3. In Steam's Library page, Right-Click on the game's title. Choose Properties. Head to Local Files tab, and click on VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME FILES.

Issues unresolved

Save system is broken on Windows 10

On Windows 10 systems the game's save system does not work properly; character or mission progress autosaving is inconsistent, and the game may skip large sections of the mission when loading a level.[7]
Game can still be completed, though achieving 100% completion may be extremely difficult, as the bug interferes with the event flag required to spawn the werewolf and obtain the "Hypnotic Gate" artifact required for the "true ending".

Below are possible methods that fixes the game's save system to avoid repeating missions and skipping sections of missions.[8]
Fixing Save System

Exclude save folder from File Indexing

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Click on Search from the list.
  3. Select Searching Windows from the sidebar.
  4. Select Add an excluded Folder under Excluded Folders.
  5. Add %USERPROFILE%\Documents\streumon\

Exclude save folder from Windows Defender

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select Update & Security.
  3. Select Windows Security from the sidebar.
  4. Click Open Windows Security.
  5. Select Virus & threat protection from the sidebar.
  6. Select Manage Settings under Virus & threat protection settings.
  7. Select Add or remove exclusion under Exclusion.
  8. Click on Add an exclusion, select Folder and add %USERPROFILE%\Documents\streumon\

Turn off Read Only attribute of the Save folder

  1. Right click on streumon folder in %USERPROFILE%\Documents
  2. Select Properties
  3. In General tab, uncheck Read-Only and click Apply
  4. Pick Apply Changes to this folder and subfolder and select OK.

Rename temp save files

  1. In the %USERPROFILE%\Documents\streumon\eye\Save folder.
  2. Rename files beginning with temp_ like so: temp_profilename.hl1 and temp_profilename.hl2 to profilename.hl1 and profilename.hl2 respectively.
  3. Delete %USERPROFILE%\Documents\streumon\eye\Save\backup folder.
  4. Launch the game.
