Issues fixed

Crash after 15 minutes on Windows 10

May be caused by a weird interaction between one version of XAudio2_7.dll and the on-screen keyboard service.
Check if this is indeed the cause of the crash with Windows error log[citation needed]
  1. Open the Start menu, type msinfo32, and press Enter.
  2. In Software Environment\Windows Error Reporting look for entries with ac3lhd_32.exe and check that the faulty module is XAudio2_7.dll.
Stop TabTip.exe[citation needed]
  • Stop the TabTip.exe process, also referred to as Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Helper, before launching the game.

Notes

To simplify this process, create a batch command to run the game.
taskkill /f /im "tabtip.exe"
cd /d "<path to the game>\Assassin's Creed Liberation"
start ac3lhd_32.exe
  • Use your actual installation folder and save as a .cmd. Launch it as an administrator.

Notes

To simply this process, create a shortcut to the .cmd and choose Run as an administrator in the shortcut's advanced options (bonus: you can use the game's icon on the shortcut)

FPS drops from 60 to 30 when Vsync is enabled

The problem here appears to be the same as in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. It is caused by lack of triple buffering in the game.

Use D3DOverrider to force triple buffering[citation needed]

Don't force VSync in D3DOverrider, only triple buffering. Enable VSync in game options (or force it in NVIDIA control panel or NVIDIA Inspector).

You can also try the other workarounds for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.

Very low framerate even on capable hardware

The game has a few abnormal performance issues on some hardware configurations, fixes follow.
Disable AA (potential bugs in the game's implementation), prevent Uplay syncing before and during game execution[3]
  1. Disabling AA which has an abnormal performance hit in this game can help.
  2. If the above fails to fix the issue, disable internet connection before launching the game and maintain until exiting the game. To sync Uplay achievements and saves, enable internet, sync and quit the game then repeat the disabling of the internet connection for normal play.

The gain in framerate for the second fix is very significant and sustained as the loss of framerate seems to be related to Uplay synchronisations slowing the game down on slower/firewalled internet connections leading to highly abnormal drops as Uplay sync fails repeatedly. No progression-related in-game features are affected by this fix as no multiplayer is present in the game and Uplay unlocks are added by the Uplay client in a save outside the game.
