Chromatic Aberration

On certain levels the game features heavy chromatic aberration fringing on the edges of the screen, currently with no in-game option for disabling it.
Ubisoft has released a patch (v1.0.5) with an option to enable or disable it. It is disabled by default. [1]
Modify the game executable to disable chromatic aberration[2]
  1. Go to <path-to-game>
  2. Make a backup copy of ACMirage.exe or ACMirage_plus.exe, depending on whether you're playing via Ubisoft+ subscription.
  3. Open the original ACMirage.exe / ACMirage_plus.exe in a hex editor, such as HxD.
  4. Search for 80 79 32 00 75 4E, and replace with 80 79 32 01 75 4E (just changing the 00 to 01)
    • When finding and replacing these hex values, make sure that the find/replace tools are using "Hex-values" mode, and search direction (if using HxD) is set to All (Forward and Backward).
  5. Save the modified EXE.

It's not currently known whether this patch may affect more than just CA, possibly may also disable other post-processing effects too.
An alternate Cheat Engine trainer to disable CA can be found on NexusMods, though is reported to only work on the non-Ubisoft+ version of the game.

Anti-aliasing (AA)

  1. Download the latest version of fixes.
  2. Copy ACMirage.NoTAA/ACMirage.NoTAA.asi and winmn.dll to the game’s directory.
  3. The game can now be launched regularly from its executable. Upon startup, a configuration file ACMirage.NoTAA.asi will be created, and can be used to enable TAA again.

Reducing character model pop-in

The game features very low LOD distances for character models, causing details on characters to visibly pop-in as you approach them, with no option in-game for adjusting it.
Fortunately the games INI file offers a setting that can increase the distances.
Increase character LOD distances via INI file[3]
  1. Ensure that the game is closed down, else the changes below may get overwritten.
  2. Go to the configuration file(s) location.
  3. Open ACMirage.ini in a text editor.
  4. Find the line beginning with Character=
  5. Increase the value as desired (maximum is 4, default is 2)
  6. Save the file, and launch the game.

Ultrawidescreen Ingame Video/Remove Pillarboxes

  1. Open ACMirage.exe with a HexEditor (HxD): Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\Assassin's Creed Mirage (make a copy at first).
  2. Press STRG + R (Hex Values), search for (ALL) 39 8E E3 3F and change (in my case) to 9A 99 19 40 (3840x1600).
  3. Search direction: all.
  4. Press Replace all. In my case they where 22 entries.
  5. Press save, enjoy.

PC players can go to the Assassin’s Creed Mirage ini file by going to Documents, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and then to ACMirage.ini. Open it with Notepad (you may have to change it to “read only”), search for “Bloom,” change that value to zero, and then save the file. This might not turn chromatic aberration off wholesale, but it might help some.
