Essential improvements
Use ScummVM 2.6 or newer, currently in daily builds. If you're using a digital copy of the game then just point ScummVM at it and go. If you're using a CD version of the game, then combine all the files from all the CDs into a single folder on your computer and point ScummVM at that.
Minimise CD-ROM swapping
The original game comes on four CD-ROM's. Disk swapping can be minimised or even avoided if you have multiple CD-ROM drives available by putting the games CD-ROM's in different drives, assuming that each drive will get a separate drive letter.
Use DOSBox
|
Notes
With DOSBox you can IMGMOUNT each CD-ROM image onto a different virtual CD-ROM drive by adding lines similar to these to your DOSBox config:
[autoexec]
MOUNT C "11H"
IMGMOUNT D "11H/CD/11th_Hour_CD1.iso" -t iso
IMGMOUNT E "11H/CD/11th_Hour_CD2.iso" -t iso
IMGMOUNT F "11H/CD/11th_Hour_CD3.iso" -t iso
IMGMOUNT G "11H/CD/11th_Hour_CD4.iso" -t iso
