Issues unresolved
Game stuck on skill tree
- Game stuck on the first time you enter the skill tree. The game will not exit from the skill tree no matter what key is pressed.
Crash after first cutscene and random crashing
- Crash after first cutscene.[1]
- First cutscene is also unskippable.[2]
- Crashes occur randomly in all parts of the game.[3]
Textures and artifacting
Artifact blocks appear on screen.
Escaping to menu and returning and geometry has failed to load correctly.
Stretched, hollow blocks of the ground appearing randomly. (Possible Fix for this particular one at least for me is to change to direct X 9. Also going offline in Uplay may rectify the issue.)
Issues fixed
Disable HUD
-
The only way to disable the HUD is by editing a .dll file with a Hex Editor program. You can disable the HUD within the game as of patch 1.04.
Disable ambient occlusion
- Ambient occlusion can't be disabled completely through the in-game settings when playing in DirectX 11, only switched to various techniques available (SSAO, HBAO, HDAO).
Disable depth of field
- This will improve performance and fix the low-res textures on the background.
Change UI language
- For some reason Far Cry 3 will sometimes have a (poorly) translated interface.
Clicking "Story" on main menu does nothing
- Story button as well as others make a noise when clicked but do not proceed to the next menu.
- This issue is usually caused by FC3.dll and FC3_d3d11.dll not being compatible with reloaded uplay_r1_loader.dll and ubiorbitapi_r2_loader.dll. Issue can be fixed easily by editing the hex values of the FC3.dll and FC3_d3d11.dll
Microstutter
Multi-GPU crash
- If your game freezes and crashes when entering a saved game, you must disable the Post FX option.
Game stuck on splash screen
- Game splash screen pops up on desktop and freezes, doing nothing until the process is ended.
Parachute will not open
Game reports wrong button for opening parachute when jumping with wing-suit. There seems to be link between crouch binding and change vehicle seat binding. Make sure that these actions are bound to same key. [4]
Multiplayer weapons will not level up
- Weapons earn EXP and level up during matches, but do no retain EXP post-game; weapons stay at level 1 indefinitely.
Disable HDR
- Disable this to improve fps.
Installation Issues
When using a C:\ drive with limited space such as an SSD, the game will not install onto a secondary drive even if you have sufficient free space.
