Ubisoft Connect, formerly Ubisoft Game Launcher and UPlay, is a digital distribution, digital rights management, multiplayer and communications service operated by Ubisoft. It was developed by Massive Entertainment.

The Ubisoft Connect client is used to access the Ubisoft Store, a companion digital game storefront. The use of Ubisoft Connect client is required to download and play games purchased on Ubisoft Store within the app.

Ubisoft launched the Uplay reward system on November 17, 2009, while offered the Ubisoft Game Launcher to manage the downloads and updating of its games. In October 2020, Ubisoft rebranded the client from Uplay to Ubisoft Connect, with the monthly subscription service being rebranded from Uplay+ to Ubisoft+.

Ubisoft+

Ubisoft+ (formerly Uplay+) is a monthly subscription service from Ubisoft that grants access to a catalog of games and content through the Uplay store.

Note that playing a more expensive edition of an owned game through Ubisoft+ may render existing save files inaccessible through the owned edition.[1]
A Ubisoft+ subscription will also grant access to Ubisoft games on Google Stadia and Amazon Luna.[2]

  1. First, you will need to uninstall the "Ubisoft Game Launcher", "Uplay" or "Ubisoft Connect" from the 'Add/Remove Programs' (Windows XP) / 'Installed Programs' (Windows Vista and 7) icon in your computer's control panel. It's possible that the "Ubisoft Game Launcher/Uplay" software will not be listed if you have already uninstalled it, or the game. If so, you can skip this step.
