Key points
- An unofficial freeware fan remake of the first three Streets of Rage games for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, featuring content from all three titles and regional variations along with new features, including some content seen from the Master System/Game Gear ports and beta versions.
- Includes a built-in editor that allows users to create their own custom games within the Streets of Rage Maker, however it must be unlocked in-game first to create and play custom games.
- No longer available for download due to Sega's copyright takedown, preventing any future updates and bugfixes.[1][2] Unofficial fan-made updates, however, has been made to the game despite the takedown.
Availability
- No longer available from Bombergames after the copyright takedown by Sega.

- Settings are tied to the save file. Save files from older versions may not be compatible with newer updates.
- If the player quits mid-game by closing the game window or pressing F12, the game will create a
savestate.sor
file that will save their session at the beginning of the stage, however, using this game's save state feature will also invalidate the player from earning certain endings. This file is immediately deleted upon resuming progress.

Graphics feature | State | Notes | |
---|---|---|---|
Widescreen resolution | 16:9 widescreen support has been added for v5.2. Base resolution is 320x240 when Widescreen Mode is disabled, 416x240 when enabled. Graphic Mode (scaling) options varies whether or not borderless fullscreen windowed and widescreen are both enabled, which scales up to native resolution using nearest-neighbor scaling.[3] | ||

Vertical sync (Vsync) | A frameskip setting was also available prior to v5.2. | ||
60 FPS | Capped at 60 FPS as of v5.2. | ||
120+ FPS | A Fullspeed setting for Game Speed can unlock the frame-rate, however the game's logic is tied to frame-rate and running the game above 60 FPS causes the game to play too fast. It has been removed as of v5.2. | ||

Issues fixed
Retro-Bit Sega Genesis 6-Button USB Controller Z and C buttons not detected
- This is caused by the fact the game does not recognize analog triggers, while the controller's XInput mode has its Z and C buttons mapped to the Xbox analog triggers.
- The game may not work with this controllers DirectInput mode. Switch to XInput if necessary, then follow the instructions for the following fix.
- This may be the case with other XInput-based controllers that lack real analog triggers.
Set the controller to XInput mode and use antimicro (or a similar program that allows mapping controller buttons to keyboard keypresses)[citation needed] |

- Turning off widescreen in-game while the FULL SCREEN WIDE setting in <path-to-game>\mod\system.txt set to any of the borderless options seem to cause the game to switch to exclusive fullscreen in a lower resolution.
