Gameplay aspects malfunctioning

Certain aspects of the game (some listed below) are affected when running above 30 FPS. The only known solution is to cap the frame rate.

Water effects and menu animations can be seen running faster.
Shielded enemies turn faster making them impossible to damage.
Certain platforms disappear too quickly.
