A demo is available of the EGA version.
Digital versions are preconfigured with ScummVM.
Digital versions only include the VGA (CD) version, which has scenes cut, censors some graphics, is missing the overture from the MT-32 and FM Towns soundtracks, and removes dynamic music in favor of fully voiced Redbook audio. They do not include the audio drama (which was included as a cassette tape with the EGA version and as an extra CD with the VGA version),[2] nor do they include the EGA version (which is the author's preferred version[Note 1]).

Essential improvements

Official patches

The MT-32 Upgrade is required for Roland MT-32 playback in the EGA (floppy) version (otherwise Ad-Lib is used).

Notes

  1. While the 256-color FM Towns version (also compatible with ScummVM) contains the full, unabridged script as well as Redbook audio, Brian Moriarty considers the art direction to be inconsistent due to the conversion having been done by 5 different artists.
Additionally, the FM Towns version has the censored graphics of the VGA version and an an audio track removed compared to the EGA DOS release (but these were not cited as reasons for his preference).[3][4][5][6]
