Essential improvements

Patches

The last official patch is 1.2.3. Those focus in general on improving 3dfx support and network support. No cumulative patches were ever released. Two additional multiplayer levels were also released for free as separate patches. All of them are available for download here and at soggi.org.

Setup freeze

When the SETUP program is run from pure DOS, and after the game is copied to the HDD, "Setup Sound" is selected, the program will freeze the PC. This will not happen if the SETUP program is run from Windows 95. This is a bug in the installation procedure, apparently they only tested running the setup process from Windows 95.

The solution, is to not run the "Setup Sound" part, but to select "Quit program", and then manually run C:\BLUEBYTE\EXTREME\SETSOUND.BAT to run the sound setup.
