Severe lag on space maps

Reduce quality of or disable AA[3]

- Open the Nvidia Control Panel.
- Under
3D Settings , select Manage 3D settings .
- Ensure the
Global Settings tab is selected.
- Set the following settings as follows:
Ambient Occlusion to Off
Anisotropic Filtering to Application-controlled
Antialiasing - FXAA to OFF
Antialiasing - Mode to Application-controlled
Antialiasing - Transparency to Off
- Check all checkboxes from the
CUDA - GPUs dropdown.
Maximum pre-rendered frames to Use the 3D application setting
Power management mode to Adaptive
Shader Cache to On
Texture filtering - Anisotropic sample optimization to Off
Texture filtering - Negative LOD bias to Allow
Texture filtering - Quality to Quality
Texture filtering - Trilinear optimization to Off

- Press the Apply button which has just appeared.
Notes
- This fix is only for Nvidia GeForce GPUs.
- Creating a profile for Angels Fall First and applying the fix's settings to that profile will also work.

Windows 10
- Windows 10 occasionally mis-configures GPUs (i.e. configures a discrete GPU as an integrated+dedicated GPU setup), especially when upgrading from an earlier Windows version.
Ensure GPU drivers are up-to-date[3]

Issues fixed
Game crashes when using DirectX 11
Reduce all setting to lowest values[citation needed]

- Start the game without the
-DX11 command line argument.
- Turn off and set all graphics options to their lowest levels.
- Apply the changes, then quit the game.
- Re-add the
-DX11 command line argument.
Notes
- You can set all graphics options back to the way they were once the fix is applied.
