Essential improvements
Additional add-ons
- Ricochet Xtreme has 3 extensions that was available for download before as the game occasionally mentions when it is recently opened, it may seem to be unobtainable but thankfully, a group of people dedicated to backing up the Ricochet games has a copy of it, for more information about the add-ons, here is the link.
{{ii} To confirm that the game is using the add-ons you applied, from the Main Menu click Options then About, the add-ons should be listed in there along with the game version.
Downloading and installing the add-ons.[1]
|
- Open this link which contains the 3 add-ons for Ricochet Xtreme, the add-ons are Reactive Music, Additional levels, and High Definition Art, download it and extract the contents, if the provided link is broken, the Discord server of Ricochet Players has an another link for it.
- Copy the add-ons you want to apply to the game, you can go and apply all 3 or you can apply just 2, it is your choice, after selecting the add-ons you want to apply. paste it into the folder of Ricochet Xtreme where the game executable resides.
- Open the game afterwards, the add-ons will immediately be used by the game and the changes will take effect.

Issues fixed
Game has graphical glitches on newer Windows versions
- If the game is played on newer Windows versions, the game will constantly leave ghost effects on objects that move fast
Use DDrawCompat or dgVoodoo[2]
|
- Choose the wrapper you want to use for the game, once you've picked up a wrapper, go inside the folder of the wrapper and look for the
ddraw.dll file, on DDrawCompat it should be simply within the folder itself that you downloaded, for dgVoodoo it should be inside dgVoodoo2_78\MS\x86
- Copy the
ddraw.dll file then paste it into the folder location of the game, do not copy it into any other folders, it should be in the same location as the game executable.
- Open the game afterwards, the graphics should now be fixed.
